Homebuyer Dream Program

Northfield Bank's Homebuyer Dream Program(1) provides downpayment and closing cost assistance to low-to-moderate income first-time homebuyers.


Grants up to $20,000 to put towards your down payment and closing costs are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Program Details

  • Must be a first-time homebuyer
  • Must be purchasing an owner occupied primary residence in our New Jersey or New York Mortgage Lending Area.(2)
  • Income limits apply
  • Homebuyer must complete a homeownership counseling program
  • Minimum contribution of $1,000 toward the purchase of the home is required by the homebuyer.

Our Homebuyer Dream Program will provide eligible first-time homebuyers in our New Jersey or New York Mortgage Lending Area(2) grants up to $20,000 towards your downpayment and closing costs.  

Downpayment & Closing Cost Assistance

Homebuyer Dream Program grant recipients are required to complete a Homebuyer Counseling Program. 

Homebuyer Counseling

The Northfield Bank Homebuyer Dream Grant Program opened up on Monday, February 10, 2025 and will run through Friday, August 29, 2025. The grants will be provided on a first come, first serve basis until the grant dollar pool is exhausted.
