Protect Yourself From Fraud
Sending fake emails, texts, or making fraudulent phone calls, are common methods that scammers use to obtain personal information.
These messages can look like they came from a real company, but link to a fake version of that company’s website in order to trick you into entering personal information – such as your Social Security number, bank account number, user names, or passwords.
Below are common ways to spot a potential fraudulent attempt:
- The email/text or phone call ask you to confirm personal information;
- The web site address and email address do not look genuine;
- The email/text is poorly written or contains misspellings;
- There is a suspicious attachment;
- The message is designed to make you panic or act quickly.
Northfield Bank will never call, email, or text to ask for personal information and we will never ask you to give us your account number, PIN, dual authentication code, or password. If you are contacted by someone claiming to be from Northfield Bank, asking for personal information, please contact us immediately, by telephone, at (833) 301-NFBK, by email at abuse@eNorthfield.com, or stop by your local branch and speak with a representative.
