Northfield Bank was founded in 1887 and has been supporting the communities we serve for over 130 years.

Northfield Bank Foundation
The Northfield Bank Foundation has provided over $8.2 million in grants to more than 350 community organizations since its inception in 2007. The Foundation's contributions include $2.4 million to health care and human services, $2.3 million to education, $2.2 million to civic and community organization, and $1.3 million to arts and culture.  The Foundation also hosts an annual golf outing which has raised over $900,000 for local hospital emergency rooms over the past 12 years.

Corporate Philanthropy
In addition to the work done by the Northfield Bank Foundation, Northfield Bank contributes nearly $500,000 annually to community organizations. We proudly support a number of cultural, educational, community development, and health and human services initiatives.

Environmental Sustainability

Our Northfield Bank team is dedicated to environmental sustainability and corporate citizenship as we all work together to preserve our planet.

Environmental Impact Committee
Northfield Bank formed an Environmental Impact Committee in 2019 which reports directly to the CEO and includes a diverse representation of employees to encourage better business practices that protect and conserve the planet. We are constantly seeking ways to enhance operational efficiency.

Sustainable Operations
We have changed the way we do business and have installed LED lighting and energy-efficient appliances and motion sensor lights on all premises.  We focus on properly recycling paper, plastic, glass, and electronics, removed paper cups from our back office facilities, implemented biodegradable products in our kitchens and have challenged our teams to reduce paper consumption.

In 2019, we partnered with Grounds to Grow On through Keurig. We recycle our used coffee pods and Grounds to Grow recycles the plastic cup and foil lid and composts the used grounds and paper filter.

Employee Engagement & Education
Our team members share ideas and experiences on being more environmentally friendly through our employee newsletter and volunteer their time with local organizations to clean our beaches in partnership with Clean Ocean Action (pictured to the left). The Environmental Impact Committee works to educate our employees and customers about environmental issues through the use of internal communications and social media.
