Northfield Bank Shares Financial Literacy Knowledge with Small Businesses in Partnership with Staten Island Economic Development Corporation

We partnered with Staten Island Economic Development Corporation (SIEDC) to host a financial literacy workshop for small businesses at our Rosebank branch on Friday, November 18th.

Our very own Northfield Bank employees provided advice about fraud prevention, cybersecurity, and financial management to business owners and employees. Merchants also had an opportunity to network with each other at this workshop.

The following Team Northfield members brought their years of financial literacy knowledge to speak at this event:

  • Robin Lefkowitz, Executive Vice President
  • Regina Boukhvalova, Senior Vice President, New York Business Development Team Leader
  • Jim Imbro, Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager
  • Isaac Zahavi, Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer
  • Christie Zampella, Vice President, Bank Secrecy Act Manager

Robin Lefkowitz said, “Our mission goes beyond providing comprehensive financial services and customer service. We are constantly thinking through innovative ways we can give back to our community and serve as a resource for local businesses.” Robin added, “This workshop was the pilot in what will be a series of sessions activated in neighborhoods across the Island to ensure we are reaching and addressing the needs of the community at large.”

Nicole DeStefano, Vice President of Development at SIEDC, said, “Through collaborations with partners like Northfield Bank, we can increase access to business assistance and create a platform for information sharing that will ultimately help our economy grow and thrive.”
