Northfield Bank Partners with We Feed Woodbridge Food Bank to Launch the 2025 “Have-A-Heart” Food Drive Challenge

Northfield Bank Partners with We Feed Woodbridge Food Bank to Launch the 2025 “Have-A-Heart” Food Drive Challenge

Northfield Bank is proud to sponsor the 2025 “Have-A-Heart” Food Drive Challenge alongside Woodbridge Township Mayor John E. McCormac, the We Feed Woodbridge Food Bank Committee, and other community partners. This annual initiative, which kicks off each January, brings together local businesses, schools, community associations, and residents to support those in need by donating 214 pounds of non-perishable food to local food pantries. The challenge will run through Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025, highlighting the generosity within the community.

The "Have-A-Heart" food drive has become a pivotal effort in helping Woodbridge Township residents who are facing limited access to food. Local food pantries are now serving over 1,400 families a month—more than double the number from before the pandemic. Mayor McCormac emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, "Our residents and businesses continuously prove that they are willing to step up and collect food and monetary donations for those in need. This challenge has grown to involve all facets of our community, making Woodbridge Township truly the Best Town Around." Last year, the community donated more than $76,657.00 and nearly 24,000 pounds of non-perishable food to support local food pantries.

Northfield Bank is committed to supporting efforts like this that make a tangible impact in the communities we serve. By participating in the "Have-A-Heart" challenge, residents and local businesses can help alleviate hunger and provide essential resources to those struggling in our neighborhoods. To contribute, simply contact Peter Barcellona at (732) 855-0600 to arrange a donation pickup or drop off your food or monetary contribution at one of the designated collection locations. By working together, we can help ensure that every resident in Woodbridge has access to the food they need.
