Northfield Bank Declares Cash Dividend and Launches New Checking Product

WOODBRIDGE, NJ February 9, 2015– NORTHFIELD BANCORP, INC. (NasdaqGS:NFBK), the holding company for Northfield Bank which operates 12 branch locations in Staten Island, reported their financial earnings for the year ended December 31, 2014.

John W. Alexander, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Northfield Bank, commented, "We are pleased to report net income of $20.3 million for 2014. Key drivers for the year were a $453.5 million increase in loans and a $128 million increase in deposits. This growth helped us to manage our net interest margin for the year in an otherwise low and declining rate environment as we continued to shift our asset mix from lower yielding investments to loans."

"I also am pleased to announce," Mr. Alexander added, "the declaration of a $0.07 per common share dividend by the Board of Directors. This dividend will be payable February 25, 2015, to stockholders of record on February 11, 2015."

Northfield Bank launched a redesigned suite of consumer checking products on January 20, 2015. Commenting on the redesigned suite, Mr. Steven Klein, President and COO noted that "These new products were developed to address the changing needs of today's customers and provide clear and easy-to-use checking choices. MyChecking includes the ability to receive ATM fee rebates and offers three convenient ways to avoid a monthly fee by either maintaining a $500 monthly average account balance, having a monthly recurring direct deposit totaling at least $500, or using your debit card ten times per month. MyChecking 60+ and MyChecking Student target individuals over the age of 60 and students under the age of 24 and eliminate monthly fees and minimum balance requirements. All three accounts in the MyChecking suite offer free online banking, free mobile banking, free mobile check deposit, free use of Popmoney, and unlimited check writing."
