STATEN ISLAND, NY, April 9, 2008 – Northfield Bank held its 30th Annual Employee Awards Dinner the evening of Wednesday, April 2nd at the Hilton Garden Inn in Staten Island.
John Alexander, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Northfield Bank, and Michael Widmer, Executive Vice President for Operations of Northfield Bank, presided over the evening that celebrated the achievements and accomplishments of Northfield employees during 2007.
“The annual dinner is an opportunity for the Northfield family to come together and celebrate the many accomplishments of our employees – both inside the bank and in the communities we serve,” remarked Alexander. “Our staff consists of remarkably dedicated employees who thrive in a customer-friendly work environment, and we appreciate the chance to recognize their successes.”

The special contributions of Northfield employees were recognized through the following awards:
The Trustee’s Award for exceptional work outside a persons’ specific area of responsibility was presented to Lisa LaMantia and Lisa Esemplare.
The President’s Award for exceptional work inside a person’s specific area of responsibility was presented to Jennifer Pitre and Susan Noel.
The Customer Service Award for demonstrating exemplary customer service was awarded to Jonathan Aronowitz, Damarys Villanueva, Stephanie Vaselli and Bart Bieszczad.
The INVEST Award for outstanding success within the Bank’s Financial Planning Program went to Marie Lipinski, Evelyn Cruz and Angie Tsirkas.
The Sunshine Award, given to persons who exhibit a positive attitude and contributes to high morale, was presented to Mary Bellavia, Gina Cox, Christina DiGiovanni, Sharon Hudak, Roxanna Maloney, Kris Bilotti, Joseph Scaglione, Maria Vasta, Elana Nigro, Patricia Bogdan and Maura Stoimenides.
The Courage Under Fire Award was presented to Ewelina Hohenfels, Stephanie Cattuti and Yelena Pritykin.
Jennifer Passanisi, Antoinette Mirabello and Narmada Tissera received recognition for the Suggestions of the Year.
Awards were also presented to those with exceptional years of service. 25 years: Evelyn Comiskey; 20 years: Yvette Wyatte and Kathy Allison; 15 years: Richard Maida, Mary Curatola and Mary Bellavia; 10 years: Mary Ellen Bongailas and Lori Andresen.
In addition, Lauren Macaluso, Lauren Cambria, Melissa Magrone, Joseph Scaglione, Serafina Gambino, Lawrence Ong, Jessica Reisman, Jennifer Lane, Malgorzata Czyzewska and Sheren Elsaid were recognized for their scholastic achievement during 2007.
