What information do I need before I start my application for a deposit account?
Before you get started you will need your driver's license and the external account number and routing number for the account you will use to fund the Northfield Bank account. If you are opening a joint account, you will also need their information.
How long does it take to open a deposit account online?
It takes approximately 10 minutes to complete the application.
How do I complete the funding process?
Within 2 business days of submitting your application, you will see a withdrawal for less than $0.99 in your funding account. Click on the link provided in the "Transfer Validation" email to confirm the amount of the withdrawal and complete the deposit process.
How do I sign up for Online Banking?
You may enroll for Online Banking after the account has been fully funded. Once the funding is complete, enrollment is available by clicking the "enroll link" under the login box on the home page of www.eNorthfield.com.
What happens when my Certificate of Deposit matures?
At maturity, your Certificate of Deposit will automatically roll into the term listed in your account opening disclosures. You may call (833) 301-NFBK for current rates.
How do I close my Certificate of Deposit or Savings Account?
In order to close your Certificate of Deposit or Savings account, please mail a letter with instructions to close the account to Northfield Bank, Attn. Deposit Operations, 581 Main Street, Suite 810, Woodbridge, NJ 07095. A check for the balance of the account will be mailed to the address on file for the account. Please note that if you close your Certificate of Deposit prior to maturity early withdrawal penalties may apply. Refer to your account opening disclosures for details.
Is there a limit on the number accounts I can open?
There is no limit to the number of accounts you open, but during the application process you are limited to one of each account type per application submitted.
During account opening, if I open more than one account, how does the funding process work?
During the account opening process, you will designate the amount of money to be deposited into each account you are opening.
